Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hazmi Mohd Rusli is a lecturer at the Faculty of Syariah and Law, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and a member of the Malaysian BAR. He is a visiting professor/fellow at a number of universities all over the world namely School of Law, Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russia (2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018), Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES), Vladivostok, Russia (2019), South China Institute, Xiamen University, Xiamen, China (2019), Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (2018, 2021) and the Australian National University (2022). He has written a number of articles published in high-impact journals and popular magazines/newspapers such as Forbes, South China Morning Post and the Straits Times. He has been interviewed by renowned international media such as the BBC, the Straits Times and Radio France Internationale on issues pertaining to international law. He is currently Lieutenant Commander of the Royal Malaysian Navy Volunteer Reserve Team. His area of interest is Law of the Sea, Maritime Policy and Public International Law.
